Track Name: Keep My Dreams Alive
Keep My Dreams Alive

I had a dream last night, I saw a train rolling on its way
I took my guitar, got on board and I traveled far away
I don’t want to leave you alone my dear
But I got a journey to do, I can’t stay here

So I ride on that train of freedom, ride on that train of sorrow and joy
I got to find my place in this wild world of beauty and war
Never mind if I’m at home or abroad
I’m afraid that’ll be a never-ending road

[Chorus:]
I know that the road is rocky, I know that it’s full of woe
I may win or fail but I keep on walking in wind and rain and snow
I may find a new home, I may never arrive
But I need to go, I need to go, I need to go to keep my dreams alive

I had a dream last night I saw a ship running out of the quay
I was on that ship on the stormy ocean going far and free
I don’t want to be without you my dear
But among these waves I got to hide away my fear

[Chorus]

Through shining light and darkness I keep my dreams alive
Through piece of luck and tragedy I keep my dreams alive
Through pleasure and pain I keep my dreams alive
I need to go, I need to go, I need to go to keep my dreams alive

[Chorus:]
I know that the road is rocky, I know that it’s full of woe
I may win or fail but I keep on walking in wind, rain and snow
I may find a new home, I may never arrive
But I need to go, I need to go, I need to go to, I need to go
You need to go, you need to go, we all need to go to keep our dreams alive
Track Name: No Direction
No Direction /Bad Religion/

A sullen figure walks along a dusty road
His life was holy and he couldn’t bear the load
He left his people and a simple life behind
He raised his torso and he looked into the sky
Shouting his questions, looking for directions
“What do I do now?”

Now a confused schoolgirl stares at the TV tray
The stresses of maturing compound every day
She glances up to see her favorite video
And gets ideas from Madonna’s nasty clothes
In need of affection she craves a direction
Her heroes offer her

Everyone is looking for something
And they assume somebody else knows what it is
No one can live with the decisions of their own
It seems so they look to someone else
To tell ‘em what to be
Tell ‘em what to wear
Tell ‘em what to say
Tell ‘em how to act and think and compel others compulsively
Until the world is all like them

A righteous student came and asked me to reflect
He judged my lifestyle was politically incorrect
I don’t believe in self important folks who preach
No Bad Religion song can make your life complete
Prepare for rejection, you’ll get no direction from me
You’ll get no direction from me
Track Name: Connemara Cradle Song
Connemara Cradle Song

On the wings of the wind o'er the dark rolling deep
Angels are coming to watch o'er thy sheep
Angels are coming to watch over thee
So list to the wind coming over the sea

Hear the wind blow love, hear the wind blow
Lean your head over and hear the wind blow

Oh, winds of the night, may your fury be crossed,
May no one who's dear to our island be lost
Blow the winds gently, calm be the foam
Shine the light brightly and guide them back home

The currachs are sailing way out on the blue
Laden with herring of silvery hue
Silver the herring and silver the sea
And soon there'll be silver for baby and me

The currachs tomorrow will stand on the shore
And daddy goes sailing, a sailing no more
The nets will be drying, the nets heaven blessed
And safe in my arms dear, contented he'll rest
Track Name: I've Never Seen a Place Like This Before
I've Never Seen a Place Like This Before

I've enjoyed my life so well
I have seen so much beauty I can't tell
I've been on the road for many days and more
But I've never seen a place like this before

I've walked the mountain side
I've been to many cities looking for a bride
Oh, I've met many pretty girls and more
But I've never seen a girl like you before

[Chorus:]
Life turns you up and down
One day you're poor, another day you find a crown
In my life I've found many treasures and more
But I've never seen a place like this before

I've wandered days and nights
I've slept in woods, on hills, fields and roadsides
I've watched the stars from many spots and more
But I've never lain on fields like this before

I've sailed the ocean blue
For girls, music, travel and nature my love's been always true
I've put my feet in rivers and lakes many and more
But I've never swum in a sea like this before

[Chorus]

I've been singing through my life
I've written songs about both good and bad times
With my friends I've played through many nights and more
But I've never sung in a pub like this before

I've enjoyed my life so well
I have eaten so much good food I can't tell
I've tried beer, wine, whiskey many and more
But I've never drunk a pint like this before

[Chorus]
Track Name: The Star of the County Down
The Star Of The County Down
Traditional

Near to Banbridge town in the County Down
One morning last July,
From a boreen green came a sweet colleen
And she smiled as she passed me by.
She looked so sweet from her two bare feet
To the sheen of her nut brown hair
Such a coaxing elf, sure I shook myself
For to see I was really there.

[Chorus:]
From Bantry Bay into Derry Quay
From Galway to Dublin Town
No maid I've seen like the sweet colleen
That I met in the County Down

As she onward sped, sure I turned my head,
And I gazed with a feelin' rare,
And I says, says I, to a passer-by,
"Who's the maid with the nut brown hair?"
He smiled at me and he says, says he,
"That's the gem of Ireland's crown.
Young Rosie McCann from the banks of the Bann,
She's the star of the County Down."

She'd a soft brown eye and a look so sly
And a smile like the rose in June
And you hung on each note from her lily-white throat
As she lilted an Irish tune
At the pattern dance you were held in trance
As she tripped through a reel or a jig
And when her eyes she'd roll, coax upon my soul
A spud from a hungry pig

Well I've traveled a bit, but ne'er was hit
Since my roving career began;
Then fair and square I surrendered there
To the charms of Rosei McCann.
I'd a heart to let and no tenant yet
Though I searched countryside and town,
But in she went and I asked no rent
From the Star of the County Down.
Track Name: The Rocky Road to Dublin
The Rocky Road To Dublin
Traditional

In the merry month of June from my home I started
Left the girls of Tuam nearly broken hearted,
Saluted father dear, kissed my darling mother,
Drank a pint of beer, my grief and tears to smother
Then off to reap the corn and leave where I was born
I cut a stout blackthorn to banish ghost and goblin
In a brand new pair of brogues I rattled over the bogs
And frightened all the dogs on the rocky road to Dublin
One, two, three, four, five

Hunt the hare and turn her down the rocky road
And all the ways to Dublin, whack fol lol de ra

In Mullingar that night I rested limbs so weary
Started by daylight next morning light and airy
Took a drop of the pure, to keep my heart from sinking
That’s the Paddy's cure, whenever he’s on for drinking
To see the lasses smile, laughing all the while
At my curious style, ‘twould set your heart a-bubbling
They ax’d if I was hired, the wages I required
Till I was almost tired of the rocky road to Dublin

In Dublin next arrived, I thought it such a pity
To be so soon deprived a view of that fine city
Then I took a stroll among the quality
My bundle it was stole in a neat locality
Something crossed my mind, then I looked behind
No bundle could I find upon me stick a –wobblin’
Enquiring for the rouge, they said my Connaught brogue
Wasn’t much in vogue on the rocky road to Dublin

From there I got away my spirits never failing
Landed on the quay as the ship was sailing
Captain at me roared, said that no room had he
When I jumped aboard, a cabin found for Paddy
Down among the pigs, I played some funny rigs
Danced some hearty jigs, the water round me bubblin’
When off to Holyhead I wished myself was dead
Or better far, instead, on the rocky road to Dublin

The boys of Liverpool, when we safely landed
Called myself a fool, I could no longer stand it:
Blood began to boil, temper I was losin’
Poor old Erin’s isle they began abusin’
‘Hurrah my soul’ sez I, my shillelagh I let fly
Some Galway boys were by, saw I was a hobble in
Then with a loud Hurrah, then joined in the affray
We quickly cleared the way, for the rocky road to Dublin
Track Name: New Home
New Home

Tonight
It’s time for me to decide
Should I stay or should I keep on flying
Should I turn left or right
Should I go back to the start
Should I give it all up or should I keep on trying

Yesterday
I took a long way
Across the stormy see and now I’m tired
It’s been raining all day
The sky above me has been grey
But I walked until I found the sunny side

[Chorus 1:]
Time is passing by
But the fields are always green in my heart
I don’t need to fly
On these fields I found my home tonight

Love
Doesn’t fall from above
Open your heart, search and you’ll find it
It may be in a pair of eyes
It may reach you with the sunrise
But it deserts you if you don’t cherish, feed or really mind it

On this road
I carried all my load
I have never let love and hope die
They found you on the way
They helped me every day
They showed me a new home where the green fields lie

[Chorus 2:]
Time is passing by
But your smile is always sweet for my heart
I don’t need to fly
On your side I found my home tonight

[Chorus 1+2]

...In my heart I found my home tonight
Track Name: Raggle Taggle Gypsy
Raggle Taggle Gypsy

There were three old gypsies came to our hall door
They came brave and boldly-o
And one sang high and the other sang low
And the other sang a raggle taggle gypsy-o

It was upstairs downstairs the lady went
Put on her suit of leather-o
And there was a cry from around the door
She's away wi' the raggle taggle gypsy-o

It was late that night when the Lord came in
Enquiring for his lady-o
And the servant girl she said to the Lord
"She's away wi' the raggle taggle gypsy-o"

"Then saddle for me my milk white steed
My big horse is not speedy-o
And I will ride till I seek my bride
She's away wi' the raggle taggle gypsy-o"

Now he rode East and he rode West
He rode North and South also
Until he came to a wide open plain
It was there that he spied his lady-o

"How could you leave your goose feather bed
Your blankets strewn so comely-o?
And how could you leave your newly wedded Lord
All for a raggle taggle gypsy-o?"

"What do I care for my goose feather bed
Wi' blankets strewn so comely-o?
Tonight I lie in a wide open field
In the arms of a raggle taggle gypsy-o"

Tell me how could you leave your house and your land?
How could you leave your money-o?
How could you leave your only wedded Lord
All for a raggle taggle gypsy-o?"

"What do I care for my house and my land?
What do I care for my money-o?
I'd rather have a kiss from the yellow gypsy's lips
I'm away wi' the raggle taggle gypsy-o!"
